Why Dragon Valley Guesthouse?
Legend says that there was a dragon near the town of Trutnov, which was defeated by a knight. The dragon was hidden in a cave near our guesthouse in a place that is today called Čížkovy kameny (Čížek's stones). This legend is told until today and the town of Trutnov holds festivities in this honor. The dragon’s energy still persists to this day. Come visit this area and experience the power of dragon magic, which will take you beyond time.

| 13.03.2022 - Marcela Hanzelková Ubytování doporučuji na 100%. Byli jsme v březnu na jarních prázdninách a není co vytknout. Úžasní a milí majitelé, pozitivní energie v domě. Ubytování čisné, útulné. Pokoj mezonet, takže děti v patře, rodiče v přízení. Kuchyň plně vybavená včetně myčky :-)). Lokalita je asi spíš vhodná na teplé měsíce, ale ani zima není k zahození. Byla to skvělá dovolená. Děkujeme. |
| 06.03.2022 - Petra Jelínková V penzionu jsme byli ubytovaní v únoru o jarních prázdninách. Ubytování mohu jen doporučit. Velice milá a vstřícná majitelka. Ubytování bylo skvělé, útulné a čisté. Všude krásné dekorace draků. Hned vedle parkovacího místa velká a zabezpečená úschovna na kola, my využili na lyže. Veliká kuchyň perfektně zařízená, nic nám nechybělo. Dostali jsme od majitelky tipy na výborné jídlo i dárky na uvítanou. Vše bylo perfektní a doufám, že se do Dračího údolí někdy vrátíme. Dávám 10 bodů z 10. Děkujeme za krásně strávenou dovolenou. |
| 01.09.2021 - Jan Kobylka U příležitosti MTB kempu na Trutnov Trails, jsem si zarezervoval ubytování v Penzionu Dračí Údolí a byl jsem max. spokojený. Ubytování je skvělé, útulné, čisté, krásné dračí motivy všude, úžasná paní majitelka. Navíc se zde počítá s tím, že si přivezete kolo, takže je k dispozici zabezpečená úschovna kol včetně možnosti si kolo v případě potřeby umýt. Pokud někdy budete shánět ubytování v Trutnově a okolí a bude možnost zde, určitě maximálně doporučuji! |
| 24.06.2020 - Jaroslav Immer V tomto měsíci jsem během dvou týdnů vystřídal dva penziony a jeden hotel. Ani jeden pobyt nebyl špatný, ale Dračí údolí jasně vyhrává. Skvěle vybavená kuchyně a hlavně .... super přístup majitelů. Moc děkuji za příjemný večer a rozpálený grill po našem návratu z trailu - to byla pohádka. Škoda, že nás následně už čekal odjezd domů. V každém případě se těším nashledanou v říjnu. |

Traveling - hiking trips
- Čížkovy kameny (Čížek stones) with a small cave. According to the legend, the dragon used to hide in a cave here. A wonderful hiking or cycling trip for people loving beautiful nature.
- Lookout tower on the ridge of the Jestřebí hory (Hawk Mountains) – 22 m high tower where you can enjoy a unique view of the Giant Mountains, Rýchory, Vraní hory or the region around Česká Skalice.
- On the way to the lookout tower, you will come across military bunkers that are literally anywhere in this area. If you go further, do not forget to visit the settlement Paseka with a popular Jestřebí shed called Řehačka. Famous czech author Karel Čapek also loved this place and called it Brendy.
- Jestřebí hory (Hawk Mountains) are a real romantic place in East Bohemia. They are connected with stories of the book Devatero pohádek (Nine Fairytales) by Karel Čapek. The highest peak is called Žaltman (740 m a.s.l.). Everything is within reach of our pension.
Traveling- cycling trips
For bike lovers, there are about 20 km of natural single trails of various difficulties in the area of Čížek stones and Hawk Mountains. An interesting feature of this place is the changing character of the local hilly landscape, which is full of sandstone boulders, rocks, forests, meadows and pastures and is thus an ideal place for mountain cycling. The starting point is the Trailcentrum in the village of Lhota u Trutnova, the second starting point for trails is the parking place Pod Sedmidomím.
In addition to the trails you can enjoy cycling trips in the surroundings. You can go to the Giant Mountains, Adršpach (sandstone rocks), Babiččino údolí (Grandmother's Valley), Rýchory, or visit Žacléř or Broumov region. Recently, several lookout towers have also been built in our region, the closest is the Slavětínská tower, but the others are also within driving distance.

Traveling - by car
Trutnov – a town in the valley of river Úpa is the only one in the Czech Republic, whose main square is named after Krakonoš – moreover, the Lord of the Giant Mountains even has a fountain of himself and dwarfs here.
Trutnov is also known as the town of music open-air festivals. The Museum of the Giant Mountains, gallery or the modern cultural center UFFO are worth visiting, too.
Traveling - bathing opportunities
AQUAPARK Trutnov – 6 km. Water slide, volleyball court, slide, lagoons, whirlpools. In winter, you can visit indoor swimming pool in Trutnov.
Water dam Rozkoš – 38 km. Water slide, mini-golf, cinema, boat, pedal and windsurfing rent, diving, yachting, fishing.
Campsite Dolce – swimming, sport, entertainment.
Baldův svět (Balda’s World) in Mladé Buky is a water playground not only for children. There is a watercourse with a lot of water mills, water-gates, dam and paddling pool. You can also visit the bobsled here.
Water park Tropikana in hotel Gołębiewski in Karpacz - about 50 km. Pools, water slides, whirlpools, various types of saunas etc.
